Making the shift from solo classical repertoire to being a collaborative pianist can feel overwhelming. You might find the practice strategies you've come to rely on don't transfer so well to a group setting. If you rely on memorization to learn new music, the sheer amount of sight reading encountered by accompanists on a daily basis can be intimidating. Not to mention transposing and reading multiple voice parts for a choir!
I want to help you feel confident at the piano, whether you are preparing for your first gig or already have some experience under your belt.
You are welcome to bring pieces you are struggling with to your coaching, I have compiled a core set of scores that we can work through and discuss different approaches to simplifying piano textures. We can discuss improvisation strategies for accompanying vocal warm-ups and playing from lead sheets. I will also share my experiences accompanying professional singers and full choirs across the Midwest, France, and Germany.
